Refurbishment and Upgrade Service

Baugh & Weedon NDT has the expertise and experience to refurbish a wide range of various manufacturers' Magnetic Particle Inspection benches, and other NDT equipment.

Sometimes, equipment deteriorates so that it no longer meets current test standards, or environmental requirements. It is often possible to improve performance to the desired standard simply by replacing specific parts, and there is therefore, no need to purchase new equipment. This is a very cost effective solution to many problems.

As an example, a bench, complete with a variable transformer power pack, was fitted with a new microprocessor control and metering system. Current metering accuracy was consequently improved to ±5% over the equipments working range, a great improvement over its original specification.

Additionally all mechanical components were checked, and changed as necessary, the inking system was cleaned and serviced, and all other electrical components and wiring surveyed.

Baugh & Weedon NDT also has a policy of acquiring well-maintained older equipment that has become surplus to requirements. This not only satisfies the specification and budgetary limits of some customers, but also allow us to offer an immediate delivery.

Typically, an exceptionally well-maintained bench, previously used by a leading manufacturing company in the Aerospace industry, became available on delivery of a new Magazon complete with MAG-Link computer control. This bench had been calibrated only a few days previously and needed little attention other than cleaning. It is now in use in a bearing manufacturing facility.
