Audit ST-1

The Audit ST-1 MPI Shot Timer is a precision hand held electronic timer specifically designed to check timer controls fitted to MPI benches. With a resolution of 0.02 seconds it is able to accurately measure the duration of a magnetising shot in respect of AC, HWDC and FWDC waveforms. The Audit ST-1 can also accommodate dual shots, recording both the first and second shot times and the duration of the rest interval.

Standard Test Pieces

A full range of test pieces is available including TP1A, TP2A, TP3A, TP4, TP5, New KS100 Ketos Test Ring, certified to AS 5282 and MTU 3, used to monitor the performance of MPI inks.

Settlement Flasks

Used to assess the concentration of magnetic particles in magnetic inks represented by the volume of settled particles obtained from a measured volume of carrier fluid.
Two types are available: centrifuge and pear shaped, with a stand to suit. 

Flux Indicators

When attached to a component, a flux indicator strip provides a guide to the orientation and strength of the magnetic field. These comply both for general applications, Type I, and for Aerospace work, type II.
Not shown, is the Berthold Penetrameter, which checks magnetisation, penetration depth, magnetic field direction and the quality of the ink fluorescence.

Threader Bars

A full range of both solid and laminated, well insulated, threader bars is available to suit most applications. Sets of special threader bars can be manufactured to order.

Contact Pads

Magnetic bench equipment uses contact pads to improve electrical contact with the work piece and the machine head and tailstocks.
Standard sizes and other types are available for most types of machine, and specials can be manufactured to order.

Leeches
Cables

All the accessories needed to operate a Digimag Power Pack are provided. Standard length 2 metre prod cables and 5 metre long "wrap-around" cables are stocked.
Either prods or copper faced Magnetic Leeches can be chosen to terminate the magnetising cables which are fitted with standard welding connectors or either end connectors.

VIEWING CANOPIES

Inspection conditions are critical when fluorescent products are used in Magnetic Particle Inspection or Penetrant Testing. Baugh & Weedon NDT manufactures viewing canopies to satisfy the special critical lighting requirements. 

Standard design, free standing canopies consist of a metal frame covered in heavy flame-resistant material with front-opening curtains, and enclose sufficient area to include an inspection station, or a supply of work pieces. The canopies have an air extractor fan, white light and a power point for a UV-A lamp, fitted as standard.

The range satisfies the majority of NDT requirements, and is available in fixed and folding designs. 

SMALL PIECE DEVICE

The Small Piece Device is used to hold small components during low-current magnetising cycles on an MPI bench. Once magnetised and inked, the component can be rotated through a full 360°, giving the widest possible viewing range for UV inspection. The two devices, as illustrated, are individually mounted on the head and tail stocks.

INK RECIRCULATION SYSTEMS 

The ink recirculation system as illustrated, is a stand-alone, 50-litre all stainless steel tank, with integral 240V AC pump and mains isolator unit. The tank itself incorporates an agitation tube in it's 'V' shaped base, which ensures that the ink particles are held in suspension. Flow control valves are used to adjust the flow of ink, through the quick-release hand spray-gun, to the optimum level.
