The BW UV-A 400 high intensity ultraviolet flood lamp provides UV illumination for either fluorescent magnetic particle, or fluorescent penetrant testing, where there is a requirement for a larger field of UV-A than can be achieved by a standard hand-held lamp.

The BW UV-A 400 may be suspended above an MPI bench, or a work area in an inspection booth. The flood lamp is fan cooled and has a switchable dual-supply voltage facility.

The BW UV-A 400 has a 400 Watt halogen source and is filtered by plain Wood's glass. This ensures that only long wave ultraviolet, between 325 and 400nm (peak 365 10nm), and some visible light is emitted. It's cooling fan continues to operate for more than three minutes after the light has been switched off. This keeps it's interior clean and reduces the thermal shock of the power being removed. It is supplied complete with mounting brackets.
